Review of 2016 and onwards…

Wow, what an exciting 6 months we’ve had here at Jacq and Rose. Our adventure began when we received the coral triangle tester back in June 2016. This was used extensively that month on the school runs and even on the first use we could tell it was something special. It was so soft and floppy from the start and our son promptly fell asleep in the first carry.

Then we took the tester to our camping trip to Latitude in July where we received many compliments from around the festival site. The bright coral colour shone in the summer sun and even the festival cups with their triangles matched the design! The wrap was a lifesaver as our pimped-up camping trolley broke on the second day.  This meant carrying was the only option when our 3-year old’s legs got tired. Plus it had other uses too – as a sunshade, a pillow and even a blanket for when it got chilly in the evenings after the sun went down.

The summer flew by in August and we took the tester wrap out with us on many family excursions.  We took it with us to the local Country parks, to Legoland, to a Roman Villa in the Cotswolds and then on our family camping holiday in Swanage. The highlight was a trip to Bournemouth beach to see the airshow and even during that our son decided to have a nap in the wrap.

September was a busy month visiting lots of sling meets so that everyone could try out our new testers and see the new designs we had been working on. The feedback on the new colourways was so great that we decided to launch those three colours straight away.

So, in October we launched a pre-order for Corallium Pink, Tanote Teal and Blue Tang. These colourways were very popular and as a result, we were able to add another colourway to our order with the mill. We were kept busy designing the brochure, doing photoshoots and ordering the rucksacks and packaging to send out with the wraps.

In November we attended Carry On London (COL), taking with us a huge bag of testers for people to try out at the Sling Playground. The conference was brilliant fun and we received lots of great feedback. It was lovely to see so many brands all showcasing their products plus we enjoyed volunteering, meeting lots of people and attending the CPD workshops.

December saw the launch of Tri Diadema Black.  This was extremely popular and as of today, there are only 2 wraps available on our new website which was also launched this month. The website had been a real challenge for us at J&R but we are pleased that we’d taken the time to learn how to build it ourselves and we will keep on adding to it for the future.

So what’s planned for 2017? Well, we’ve got several testers of new designs which have been travelling the UK and Europe. We are reviewing the feedback we’ve received and some of these will go straight into production whilst others may undergo a few changes. We plan to introduce ring slings into our product range and prototypes are scheduled to be made in the new year. We are looking at new blends such as wool, silk and linen. There will also be exciting new designs and more ocean themed colourways for our existing Tri design. We are also looking to nature for 2017, taking inspiration from the beautiful colours we see in the British countryside and gardens. We look forward to sharing these with you soon.  Plus we will be exhibiting at a number of sling conferences around the UK and we are a contributing sponsor at the Wrap Show in London (in May).  We can’t wait to see some of you there!

Best wishes for 2017, from all of us at Jacq and Rose and here’s to another exciting 6 months ahead x
